Moon Run VFD now being dispatched by Allegheny County 9-1-1
Earlier this year, the Moon Run Volunteer Fire Department, along with the Forest Grove and Groveton Fire
Departments, in a strive to keep our community safer, has switched our dispatch center to Allegheny County 9-1-1. All Moon RUn VFD fire calls
will now be dispatched on a frequency of 471.7375 mhz. Robinson Township Fire Departments will still utilize the radio frequency of 472.4125 Mhz. The new system
allows the departments to have improved communications throughout the community.
About the Moon Run Volunteer Fire Department
The Moon Run Volunteer Fire Department is located in
Robinson Township, Allegheny County in Pennsylvania. Our Department is responsible for roughly 9 square miles of
Robinson Township for fire related calls. We our responsible for all 15 square miles of Robinson Township for any type of rescue that is needed. The Moon Run Fire Department has 36 firefighters. Our members our all volunteers, meaning we do not receive a salary of any form for being firefighters. We answer the alarm 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our department's funding mainly comes from fund raising and donations.
Our station is located on Steubenville Pike (Route 60) next to
the Twin Hi-way Drive-in Movie
Theater. The building is eight
years old and is capable of holding a variety of vehicles, currently
there are five pieces of apparatus housed
in our station.

Moon Run Volunteer Fire Department is dispatched by the Robinson
Township Police Department. The frequency that we are dispatched
is 472.4125 Mhz. Robinson Township Police also dispatches the other
two fire departments in Robinson, Station 243 Forest Grove, and
Station 244 Groveton. They are also responsible for dispatching
the Police and the Public Works Department.
